Φωτογραφία Δέσπως Μιχαηλίδου – Λιβανίου Despo Michaelidou – Livaniou was born in 1952 in Limassol. She’s the first child of Timoleontas Livanios, from Attalia, Asia Minor and Maroulla Poliviou from Vouni, Limassol. She graduated the First Limassol Highschool in 1970 and she studied at the Law School of Athens (1970 – 1975). She practiced as a lawyer in Limassol, between 1978 and 1989, when she was appointed as a Temporary District Judge in January 9th, 1989, at the District Court of Nicosia. In 1997, she was promoted as a Senior District Judge and in 2003 as a President District Court. She was promoted to the Supreme Court in 2012. During practicing law, for several years, she served as Secretary of the Bar Association of Limassol and afterwards as a member of the Council of Association of Judges. She is married to Georgios Michaelides and she has three children; Danae, Photini and Demetris. She writes poetry and she paints.
