Angelos David was born in Nicosia in 1967. His family originates from Assia, Famagusta, where he spent the early years of his life. In 1985, he graduated from the Pancyprian Gymnasium in Nicosia. After completing his military service, he attended the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he obtained a Law Degree.
He practiced law at a Nicosia law firm until 1999, when he was appointed as a Temporary District Judge. In 2000, he was appointed District Judge. He was promoted to Senior District Judge in 2010 and to President of the District Court in 2015. As a first-instance judge, he served at all levels and in all jurisdictions, including the Permanent Assize Court. On July 1, 2023, he was appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court.
He served for several years as a Lecturer-Examiner for the Legal Council (2004–2015).
He was the Chair of the Subcommittee for the drafting of the new Civil Procedure Rules.
He represents the Judiciary in the Association of European Competition Law Judges (AECLJ).
He is a Trainer-Speaker for the Cyprus Judicial Training School.
Since 2020, he has been a member of the Committee for Monitoring Judicial Ethics Principles.
He has participated in various legal conferences both in Cyprus and abroad, as well as in training and educational seminars on various areas of law, delivering lectures and making educational presentations.
He is married and has two children.
